SPRING EVENTS
March:
On March 14, 2002 the NAMC presented "Skin Deep: Issues of Self-Esteem & Body Image" at WALK 97.5's symposium L.I. Women Today: Creating Our Destiny at the Melville (NY) Marriott.
This panel presentation, moderated by Rosanne Weston, CSW, co-chair of the NAMC board, included Terry Baver, PhD, Psychologist, noted speaker and NAMC consultant, who spoke about the cultural, social, and political issues related to body image; Nancy Gruver, Founder & Publisher of New Moon Magazine, who examined the effect the media has on our self-image; and Judith Ruskay Rabinor, PhD, author of A Starving Madness: Tales of Hunger, Hope & Healing in Psychotherapy who shared some healing strategies, particularly for eating disorders. The NAMC shared the program with Gloria Steinem and Rabbi Shmuley Boteach.

June:
On June 3, 2002 our 3rd Annual Putt-ing Families First golf tournament, honoring Abby Kenigsberg, founder and former Director of the Coalition for Fair Broadcasting, will take place at St. George's Golf Club, Setauket, NY.
Our 3rd Annual Putt-ing Families First Golf Tournament at St. George's Golf and Country Club, Setauket, NY returns on June 3, 2002. Sponsorship levels range from $10,000 Tournament Sponsors to $2,250 Foursome Sponsors with underwriting opportunities of $1,500 and below. This event benefits 3 Long Island based family support organizations: The National Association of Mothers' Centers, The National Center for the Parent-Child Home Program and The Middle Country Library Foundation National Family Place Project.
