This project offers assistance, specific supportive programming, counseling, training and referrals to prevent, decrease the risks of, and treat maternal depression. This outreach project is offered by The Family Success Collaborative. The collaborating agencies are the NAMC, Long Island's United Way's Success By 6 Initiative, Mark's Family Right from the Start 0-3+ Center of North Shore Child & Family Guidance Center, The Parent-Child Home Program National Center and the Postpartum Resource Center of New York. The Family Success Collaborative acknowledges Postpartum Support International's statement confirming the necessity of social support as essential for pregnant women, mothers and families. Maternal depression poses a serious risk factor and must be addressed to ensure the emotional and physical health of pregnant women, mothers and families.
