"Instantly, I felt connected. I saw moms who were in the same stage of life, also needing assistance and affirmation Not only did I find answers, I felt wanted and needed. I made friends. True friends. My kids made friends. Others valued my opinion as a mom."
"Listening To Mothers", the First National US Survey of Childbearing Experiences, presented by the Maternity Center of America - Oct 2002, NYC The NAMC was a collaborating agency for a forum presented by the Maternity Center Association called "Listening to Mothers" which took place on Thursday Oct 24, 2002 in NYC. The results of the first national US survey of women's childbearing experiences were presented. These survey results and recommendations have far-reaching implications for childbearing women, maternity caregivers, policy-makers and the media. A keynote address by Anna Quindlen, Pulitzer Prize winning journalist & best-selling author, was a special treat and touched upon many issues that are dear to the heart of scores of mothers and others in the audience.

An electronic file of the "Listening to Mothers" survey report and an executive summary are available at www.maternitywise.org/listeningtomothers/.
