"Instantly, I felt connected. I saw moms who were in the same stage of life, also needing assistance and affirmation Not only did I find answers, I felt wanted and needed. I made friends. True friends. My kids made friends. Others valued my opinion as a mom."
A New Documentary explores the lives of mothers "Baby I'm Yours", a documentary that explores the lives of three first-time mothers, premiered on the Oxygen Cable Network in May 2003.

Baby Im Yours" is an honest and funny look at motherhood from the perspective of three thirty-something women who are having their first babies. This documentary film confronts the paradoxical heart of "maternal love," examines the extent to which mothers attempt to rewrite the scripts of their own childhood, and questions why mothers feel so guilty and remain so silent. "Baby Im Yours" offers no pat answers, but promises all mothers recognition and reflection, and the realization they are not alone.

Told through the voices of the mothers themselves, the film follows each woman for two consecutive years from pregnancy on. In a culture that has long regarded mothering as an "instinctive" process that requires neither particular aptitude nor training, "Baby Im Yours" begins with the radical premise that mothers are made, not born. The characters in the film offer a wide range of mothering styles and skills: Robin, an acting teacher who has "been ready to be a mother her whole life"; Keelin, a corporate lawyer whose husband assumes the primary care-taking role for their son Kane; and Suzanna, who struggles with the choice of whether or not to abandon a successful banking career to become a full time mother.

"Baby Im Yours" captures the vulnerable state in which new parents find themselves, regardless of how prepared they thought they were. Exploding several myths about mothering, the film presents a very real portrait of three women and their partners in uncharted territory. Simultaneously exhausted, depressed, optimistic and elated by their new role as mothers, each participant in "Baby Im Yours" shares deeply personal thoughts on the adjustments and sacrifices having a child demands.

Running time: 87 minute 50 seconds.
