Moms Win More Advocates through Mothers� Centers Growth

Jericho, NY- The National Association of Mothers� Centers is growing in their ability to provide more support through events, communications, services and training to moms and other members. Ellen Kramer joined in January 2007 as Events Coordinator taking on responsibility for NAMC�s annual Work/Life Conference, Motherhood and Apple Pie Breakfast, and more.

In May 2007, Catherine Wright joined the staff as Membership Development Director responsible for developing and implementing strategies for membership growth and retention, serving as a resource for donors and members, and overseeing delivery of advocacy messages via consciousness-raising materials and training to Mothers� Centers and their members.

Ellen began her experience with NAMC as a member of the SW Nassau Mothers� Center in 1997. Her enthusiasm for what the center had to offer lead her to become a Peer Facilitator in 1998. She later spear-headed the opening of the Long Beach Library Mothers� Center. Prior to getting involved with NAMC, Ellen was an International Flight Attendant, a Bi-lingual Concierge and she worked as Assistant Events Planner for Russell Reynolds Associates. Ellen�s attention to detail is second to none. She truly has a passion for bringing creativity and fun to everything she undertakes.

Catherine brings to NAMC over 20 years of business development, training and facilitation experience. She was President of her own consulting firm for 8 years. Her work with Long Island not-for-profits includes Island Harvest, Habitat for Humanity and the Foundation for Sight and Sound. Catherine is an accomplished public speaker and has a special place in her heart for addressing the needs of women. Catherine started her own support group for new mothers, Meals for Moms, shortly after giving birth to her son, Devan. She has contributed to several television programs for Families In Transition, a Public Access television show aired throughout Long Island. She is on the board of the Long Island Women�s Business Council and a member of the Long Island Center for Business and Professional Women.

Catherine and Ellen bring a wealth of skills and professional expertise that will allow the NAMC to maximize its community outreach while providing more mothers and families with the support, information and community they so desperately need to meet the challenges of raising children and navigating work and life commitments.
