Skin Deep: Issues of Self-Esteem and Body Image The NAMC presented "Skin Deep: Issues of Self-Esteem & Body Image" at WALK 97.5's symposium L.I. Women Today: Creating Our Destiny at the Melville (NY) Marriott.
This panel presentation, moderated by Rosanne Weston, CSW, co-chair of the NAMC board, included: Terry Baver, PhD, Psychologist, noted speaker and NAMC consultant, who spoke about the cultural, social, and political issues related to body image Nancy Gruver, Founder & Publisher of New Moon Magazine, who examined the effect the media has on our self-image and Judith Ruskay Rabinor, PhD, Author of "A Starving Madness: Tales of Hunger, Hope & Healing in Psychotherapy" who shared some healing strategies, particularly for eating disorders. |
