NAMC BEST Program

Best in Business, Best in Life
Employers and employees work Best when they work together

While employers address the physical and economic needs of their employees with health plans, salaries, time off and other benefits, we know from years of experience with families that the emotional and social needs are often neglected. Researchers and businesses report that addressing work / life issues results in increased focus, productivity and loyalty.

The BEST Program fills in the gaps and gives employees a place where they can explore new ideas to make their work and home life more compatible as they share information and creative solutions. To support and address work/life issues, the NAMC is now offering the BEST Program in the form of on-site sessions.

Identifying the need:
In generations past, men and women were often eased into and comforted in their roles as mothers and fathers by nearby extended families and close-knit communities and neighborhoods. Today, families are more mobile, and many more families have two working parents. Extended families may be hundreds or thousands of miles away; neighbors are often strangers. The lack of these natural supports has left a tear in our social fiber that is impacting on the capacities of our families to function optimally. Longer work weeks due to corporate downsizing come at a time when recent research in child development emphasizes that adequate, caring supervision for children of all ages is imperative. Parents are feeling the squeeze as the pressure is compounded.

The NAMC's BEST Program

To support and address work / life issues, the NAMC is now offering the BEST Program in the form of on-site sessions. Participants in the program report feelings of greater loyalty for their employer, gratitude for the support and higher productivity.

What makes BEST unique? Information is coupled with creative problem solving, action steps and resources. By giving employees new skills, by providing positive ways to respond to life's challenges and by promoting healthy behaviors, employers benefit from a more effective workplace environment.
